Cottage Place

A place where classical architecture and a contemporary aesthetic converge. On a compact lot, the brief was simple; a planting palette that felt like the foothills of the mountains. A little rustic elegance. Ornamental grasses and hornbeams flank the front. In the back, a cocktail pool with a custom water feature and planter box. Material mixing of limestone and ipe on the pool deck has a hidden use for water runoff underneath. The master plan demonstrates sensitivity to drainage with a pea gravel drive. Custom planters complete the space with hardy broadleaf perennials.
