In Town Retreat

What began as a common residential site challenge — a substantial grade drop — transformed into a resort-like feel, primed for daily use. Covered, raised decks commonly feel disjointed from the back landscape. KFiles Design modified the architecture of the deck with expansion and relocation of steps, and created a raised Indiana limestone patio for dining and entertaining. Resurfacing the deck with white oak TimberTech allowed us to blend the hardscape materials seamlessly while preserving the existing tree canopy and sloping grade on the left side. Additional steps carry you to the pool, surrounded by faux turf. The custom-sized pool was intentionally centered on the garage, and the raised spa allowed us to anchor the sloping corner and create a soothing water spillway. A custom Eastover Collection trellis was installed as a focal point with star jasmine, and podocarpus hedges flank the limestone patio with fountain grasses and soft perennials.
