Fountain Garden
When a local artist asked us to create a tranquil garden she could paint, we could not resist. This home began with a renovation by Arcade Architecture, and we were thrilled to collaborate on the open view from the new French doors. The original, significantly smaller patio and retaining wall were removed to make way for an expanded walled garden. We thoughtfully divided the lounge and dining areas by utilizing a change in hardscape materials. The herringbone brick draws your eye to the tiered cast stone fountain and parterre, while graceful, wide steps lead to the terraced lawn. Along the upper wall is a cutting garden which includes boxwoods, peonies, dahlias, nepeta, and hydrangeas. The fountain is visible from every area of the backyard.
