Stone Wall Garden

The stone wall and topography set the precedent for this small but beautiful, structured cottage-style cutting garden. The backyard is comprised of three outdoor rooms, each with its own special focal point. The upper lawn features a parterre and armillary sphere, anchored with custom carpentry and climbing roses. The lower gravel courtyard features an Elegant Earth bench and fountain. The soothing sound of water is audible from the covered patio and the client's home office. Thoughtfully selected by KFiles Design, the fountain enhances the shape and materials of the fireplace. The bluestone pathway is softened with mazus ground cover, while trailing rosemary cascades over the stone wall. Using trees and shrubs for additional form, each space feels like an intimate garden room, and the rooms combined make the garden feel larger than life.
